Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI)

We understand that after your child receives a diagnosis of autism (or a related disability) that this is a stressful and overwhelming time. We work closely with you and your child to develop the most effective program for you and increase your quality of life. We want learning to be fun and for your child to reach his or her full potential. We use multiple teaching formats and shaping. Our goal is to figure out how your child learns and teach them the skills needed to be successful in life. Our programs target the core deficits in language, functional communication, self-help, play, and social skills. We also address skills from pre-academic, school readiness, outings, to teaching your child to ride a bike.

Research has shown that with an intensive ABA program (averaging 25-40 hours a week) children with a diagnosis of autism will make substantial gains in development. Our goal is to start as soon as we can and for your child to be ready to enter kindergarten on the same trajectory as his/her peers.

At the start of an EIBI program, your BCBA will meet with you to discuss your child's strengths and needs. A program will be developed based on the principles and techniques of ABA and specifically designed for your child. No child is alike. Here at ACCL, we do not take a cookie cutter approach to treatment/programming. Our goal is for your child to reach his or her full potential as quickly as possible. An EIBI program involves 25+ hours per week (hours vary per child/family) of 1:1 sessions conducted by a behavioral therapist, weekly team meetings to evaluate programs, child progress, and weekly parent training meetings. Intervention is provided in all relevant settings, including the child's home, pre-school or school, and community.
"Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also of succeeding."
